Inspire North is a charity with a powerful mission: to create lasting, positive change across communities in the North of England. Huddersfield design agency NWDI had the opportunity to help them reflect that mission through a refreshed brand identity that felt clear, inclusive and full of purpose.
Working in partnership with Danny Bulmer as part of The Purpose Designers, we brought together strategy and creativity to shape a brand that speaks to the heart of Inspire North’s work.
We kicked things off with a series of workshops involving staff from across the organisation. These conversations uncovered what mattered most — from the strengths of the existing brand to hopes for how the new identity could support the charity’s future growth and visibility.
From there, Danny and I developed two distinct branding options. When it came time to present, the response was overwhelming: the team immediately connected with our first concept. In fact, it needed hardly any changes — a real testament to the collaborative groundwork laid during the workshops and the care taken to get it right from the outset.

The final identity strikes a careful balance: it feels both warm and professional, empowering Inspire North to engage confidently with communities, funders, and stakeholders alike.
Feedback from Inspire North has been incredibly positive, and it’s already fantastic to see the new branding making an impact across their networks.
It’s been a real honour to help refresh the voice of such an inspiring organisation, and we can’t wait to see how Inspire North continues to grow with this new identity at the heart of their journey.
